SKATING BACKGROUND :
Sharon was one of the original coaches at the Talbot County Community Center and her love for teaching ice skating has not diminished over the years. Sharon taught and organized the first group of students who would travel to freestyle competitions representing The Talbot County Community Center. She also formed the first synchronized skating team, which also successfully competed under the banner of the Talbot County Community Center. She also helped create the Jamie Webb ice hockey program and was an original instructor in that program as well. Through the years Sharon has received instructor training from national, world, and Olympic coaches from Colorado Springs, Ohio, Delaware, Virginia, and Maryland. Sharon enjoys working with skaters of all ages in both in the Learn to Skate program and privately. Sharon believes that a good foundation is the key to becoming a good skater, whether in freestyle, ice dance, synchro, or hockey. But most of all she feels that skating should be a fun and enjoyable sport that can be enjoyed throughout one’s life.
